Music invades you But it is a beautiful invasion. Music takes control of you But it is a beautiful possession. It takes hold of you, catches you up, and transports you to places far away. It takes just the whistle of a flute, a wavering flighty sound to take you. And you're there. All the emotions come flooding back. You remember everything that you felt before, and you experience it again. All in just a few seconds. And yet often step-by-step too. And usually both. All it takes is a single sound. To take you flying To bear you off far away To carry you home.
(This is how I feel watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy, with the beautiful, genius musical score and everything. I watched it yesterday and I am numb with emotions.)
