Many lives know what it is to need

Many mouths are plagued by flies but never feed

Barren lands where sorrows grow

Pain and suffering the life they know

But even so, a mother still smiled

When she held her precious child

Even though she sees a life of despair

A flicker of hope still lingers there

No matter how hard we think life gets

Life will continue, calling in its debts

Fighting for their precious life

Against all odds, no coward's knife

When we reach life's tar black bottom

Remember it may only be the autumn

Still a winter of woes to fight

Spring will come so don't lose sight

Man can be haunted and filled with dread

Until he walks among the dead

When real pain is everyday

That's when hope shows there is a way

As a race we are full of greed

But spare a thought for those in need
