The child still dwells within me, Rarely appearing for anyone to see. He reminds me of my dreams, The future left behind, or so it often seems.

My present is now, I'm a man that holds my head high, I never break my vow.

The past that led me to this day, A path that led me far away, Every tear, laugh and guilty thought, Combines in lessons needing taught.

Old friends waiting to come out to play, Shoulder to shoulder come what may. New friends never got to know who I used to be, They can't complete the picture without my family.

The family I left behind, Seeking whatever I could find, Creating family of my own, Sometimes lonely, never alone.

One land that children call their home, Another where my heart still roams. When I dream I see the smile play in their eyes, Knowing we've bid farewell to sad goodbyes.
