Is the summer here for good
Or have I misunderstood?
My garden is a mass of weed
A few days there is what I need.
Logs to chop and grass to cut
Helps me escape the winter rut.
Rusty BBQ needs a clean
An energy boost, I'm feeling keen.
Burger buns and sparkling wine
Radio playing Jeremy Vine.
Chairs and plates, bring the inside out
That's what summer is all about.
My spirits high, a playful mood
Sun or none summer is here for good.
