27 July 2012
In half an hour, the opening ceremony of the London Olympics 2012 begins! I must admit I am rather excited. For seven years, British people have endured the anguish and farce that is the Olympic Games, but at last it's come to it's mighty conclusion (or should that be it's beginning?) Let's forget the Korean flag fiasco, let's temporarily forget the potential fate of the Olympic Stadium (not West Ham, PLEASE!) and let's remember that this is a symbol of unity to bring the world together. It may bit be Beijing, but it'll be wonderful none the less.
To quote Cornelius Fudge (Ludo Bagman in the book but he never said this line) at the four hundred and twenty-second Quidditch World Cup of 1994: LET THE MATCH BEGIN!
