I'm am currently suffering a bout of Batmania (batman mania). This is not entirely due to the film. Earlier in this year, I was intending to buy Batman Arkham Asylum (a bit late in the day, I know, but it's still a great game) so I decided to do a little casual research.
Beyond The Killing Joke I have read none of the Batman comics. I have seen all of the Christian Bale films, and have seen a few of the rather laughable '50s TV episodes. Over time I have come to know a reasonable amount about Batman, but I am by no means an expert.
I did get the game, in the end, and got stuck when I had to find Doctor Young in Arkham Manor so gave up. However, the arrival of the film inspired me to try again and I got past it and I am now on the bit after you defeat the two henchmen in Venom in the gardens at once. Anyway, I have decided to write a Batman fan-fiction on Opuss. It could be good, but it will probably be dire. I would encourage more dedicated fans of the Bat to do the same, and try and spread Batmania faster than the Joker's laughing gas. Hopefully, we might end up with one or two batman episodes worthy of being added to the official canon!
