Just been to see Joules Holland's band in Carlisle. They were fantastic! Gilson Lavis, their drummer, did the most entertaining drum solo I have ever seen (and I usually hate drum solos!) Unfortunately, it was in the most soulless venue in the world. The Sands Centre is a black cavern of fun-sucking cloth and dodgy seats. They do good stuff, and get good and excited crowds, but the place really is crap! The fans are weird red things that look like they've come out if a John Pertwee Doctor Who episode, yet they never switch them on so it is roasting in there! In misfortune ever leads you to Carlisle, England, visit the Sands Centre and see the boredom for yourself! But if Joules Holland and his band are ever anywhere else, go and see them. They are great.
