Oh god Opuss, how I have missed you, your words, the people, everything. I've been having trouble recently writing, but I have been trying, below I will put everything I have written, because I fear, I may, have lost my way with words...
"Dear Juliet..." Plan: its modern day. He is gonna write the letter. A woman, same age, is gonna read it and sends an answer, they communicate through these letters for a while and then they meet, and she is his soulmate, then he finds out she is obsessed with the story and tries to get him to follow it, killing themselves and all, but then at the last moment Katie turns up and they kiss and it's all a happy ending. But it's gonna be a full sized book type thing.
'Dear Juliet'
As I signed my letter and folded up my letter, and put it in a crack in the wall beneath the legendary balcony, I said a silent prayer to whoever may have listened, hoping that for once in my misfortune would somewhat turn around. I looked to the night sky hoping that someone would be able to help .I have always been agnostic. But a mans last resort in a time of desperation is to prayer. My last day in Verona was coming to an end, I didn't really want to leave, I didn't want to face the failure I had become back home. I didn't want to face the disappointment from my family, that have now disowned me for failing. I didn't want to face the work that was waiting for me back on my desk. I really didn't want to face her. Katie. As you can read, I couldn't do it, I couldn't jump off of the roof. I looked down at the harbour and I just, froze. But I have never been the same since that day. My chest, where my heart should be, instead a stabbing pain that cannot be described fully into words. Instead, I stepped down, and went back to my window-ledge to watch the sun break through the clouds that seemed to have been there for a lifetime and more.
I have since moved out of that dreaded place, from Arbroath to London, the constant noise of the busy streets may keep me awake at night, but it's better than a place that I almost couldn't be alive to be awake.
As I stepped back and admired the amount of letters from all sorts of people stuck onto the wall, I began to realise that a lot more than me needed help, and the slight chance that I would get even a sign of what to do.
My last day in Verona was soon coming to an end and I knew that London was going to be hell when I got back, work, family, everything. Sat in the airport, I didn't even know why I was leaving, I wasn't happy at home, but at least it was better than Arbroath. I checked my phone, 8 missed calls from Rebecca. My seat number was called to board so I stood up to get on the plane. I was just about to board when i heard a voice shout my name. "Matthew?! Matthew? is that you?". As I got on the plane, I wish I knew that I'd made such a mistake, not to turn around and see who was shouting me...
"The 12 days of Posie" This was actually a Christmas present for my friend Elspeth, she had this character she had made when she was little and I just decided that I should bring out the child in her, she loved the present, and it inspired her to write the rest of the story and to continue writing. But here it is: The 12 days of Posie
Chapter One 25th December 2012 'The past isn't a very good Christmas present'
It had been a while since the last adventure of Posie Rose Parker. As time does not affect her she is still as youthful as she was before. She still had shimmering golden hair and was still as good with a sword as in her last adventure but now, she had gained something new. As she went through time, she found a friend, Christopher. With Christopher's brilliant mind and Posie's astounding swordsmanship and her heroic experience from previous adventures, they made the perfect team.
On a cold December morning, Posie walked down a crowded New York street. The bustling city gave a constant vibrating feeling on the floor making the city seem alive. As she walked down 5th Avenue she couldn't help but notice the gleaming diamonds in the Tiffany's window. She looked above at the Clock tower and thought out loud, "Oh no! I need to go meet Chris!" She ran down the street towards Grand Central Station where she was meant to meet Chris. As she was running there was a man who bumped into her. He was wearing a long black coat and she thought she saw a sword in a sheath on his side. Posie couldn't help but think she knew this man from somewhere, but she couldn't stay, she was 4 blocks away from the station, she could see the busy entrance already.
As she got into the station, she was surprised to see that even though the entrance was pouring with people on the outside, inside the station, there was just one other person. A tall boy with brown hair staring quizzically at the complex machine. The machine was a circular upright ring with all sorts of complicated wires running to a variety of machines, all ending up connecting to a laptop that the boy was working on. "Chris?" Posie said confusingly at the boy in the centre of the room. The boy turned round to face Posie, his piercing blue eyes reminded Posie of sapphires, or the ocean, she couldn't decide. She ran down the marble steps to meet Chris by the contraption. "Care to...explain?" Posie said as she walked towards him. "I've been noticing some... Problems in this time realm." Chris said turning to face Posie. "How so?" Posie questioned. "Well, you may not remember the previous adventures you've had, but it appears that your scars are not the only things that are reminders... They're coming through to this time realm Posie. All of them. Even Penelope." "What?!" Posie exclaimed. "How is that even possible!" She continued. "Well, I'm not entirely sure, but from the data I've gathered, it appears that. They've been trying to change the past. All of them working together under Penelope's rule." Chris explained. "This can't be happening..." Posie said as she looked at the laptop screen trying to figure out what the hell was happening. Suddenly, a loud noise came from one of the train tunnels. The next thing Posie saw was a train crashing through the wall into the station and the image of her sister driving the train. When Posie got up from the rubble, she was greeted with a sinister message. "Merry Christmas, sister..."
Chapter Two 25th December 2012 Dashing through the snow and fire...
Thirteen swordsmen suddenly appeared behind Penelope, grabbing Chris who was unconscious at this point. "Penelope... What do you want?" "Revenge Posie, revenge. It's bad enough that our vile parents preferred you, pah. They're better off dead." Posie stared holding back her anger. Penelope continued to say "But alas Posie, all of your lives have to run out some time. So, I'd better get sorted, you can't have many left after all of your adventures." Posie knew exactly how many lives she had left. She didn't have as many as before, she had been on many adventures since then. She knew that she had only 12 left. Posie was about to reach for her trusty ruby sword when some hands constricted her from behind and stopped her from moving. Menacingly, Penelope moved forward towards Posie, a bronze dagger in her hand. The deafening sound of the clock towers bells striking midnight filled the room. On the first ring the bronze dagger plunged into Posies chest, just below her locket. The ice cold blade of the dagger froze Posie from the inside until she was too cold to move. She fell down to the ground and just before she closed her eyes, she saw Penelope take the locket from Posies neck...
26th December 2012
Posie awoke to find the entire station in flames. Stone columns had fallen causing debris all over the room. When Posie got to her feet she noticed something, Chris was gone along with him his laptop.
She ran outside the station to find a city she did not recognise. It looked like New York, but skyscrapers had fallen and fires were blazing. But there were no people there. No vibrating of the ground, no constant taxi horns. Posie knew what had happened. They'd changed the past. And now, this was the present she was left with. An empty chessboard for Penelope to kill Posie once and for all on. Posie fell to her knees. Tears welled up in her piercing emerald eyes. Her wavy hair fell in front of her face, hiding her sorrow from an empty city. This wasn't like Posie, she never showed weakness. But she felt helpless, the universes key to destruction was in that locket, the universes protection hangs in the balance of a locket she didn't have. It was only a matter of time before Penelope opened it and all time would restart. Posie got to her feet and began to run through the icy streets, heated by the raging fires all around her. She didn't know exactly where she was running, but she was heading there as fast as she could. Ahead of her, the post-apocalyptic looking Empire State Building was getting closer, and also, was the end of everything she thought she was sure of...
Chapter 3
26th December 2012
The half-destroyed Empire State Building stood in front of Posie. She knew this was where she was meant to be. She could sense it. She knew that this was the end. She knew what she had to do, she knew that she had to save Chris. He meant so much to her, he was probably her closest friend in this time realm.
She got to the top of the building and she could see the entire cityscape below her, she could see what could only be described as dystopia...
At the top level of the observation deck she saw Penelope and Chris. Stood side by side. Not being constrained. Not fighting. Just stood there appearing to be conversing with each other. Posie sneaked up near them so she could eavesdrop on the conversation. "Chris, I can't tell you how proud I am that you were able to pull that off, the portal in Grand Central Station that brought our weapon from back in time, drawing Posie in so we could whittle down her pathetic lives to a mere few.
