Day and Night The dark and then the light The dark is a bitter bite Taking away any fight

Across the hills you can hear my cries A shaking scream into my mind Inside me my soul dies I reap what I may find

Day sweeps across the broken sky Washing away all the fear and pain It brings me near and breaks the tie But even the light will not remain

A constant battle between two tides Neither one stops or subsides I am in the middle The one who hides

Because they are not two times They are not parts of the day They do not relate to the clock's chimes But instead something within Buried deep beneath the skin

They are a writhing ocean And I'm gasping for oxygen They are two emotions Playing games inside my head

Sometimes it's day and sometimes it's night It's never really clear which one is in sight One remains fragile and one remains a blight Sometimes I wish for one, and sometimes I wish for the other In the end, it's a battle of day a night
