Chapter 1 <~>
Ok, so it's the start of the summer holidays. Most kids would be over the moon- but not us. Partly because we live on a farm (literally miles from civilisation) and partly because it has rained everyday! I mean rain in summer? That is breaking a nature law! Oh, by the way. I'm Sienna. A cool, laid-back, 14 year old. I have golden brown hair just past my shoulders and sparkling blue eyes. Most boys say I have a pretty face- but really, I'm a geek! So, my family. There's my mum and my dad, I like my dad more and they both know it! I have two older twin sisters called Jenny and Penny. We hate each other! They are prettier than me and are 15. This means that (so they say) they get first pick on everything! "What's up?" my mum asked me as she entered the living room. "Why don't we have cow sheds?" I asked watching the rain hammer on the backs of our 3 cows. Then I turned my heads to see our 4 horses all snuggled with their coats on. "Ask Penny!" Mum smiled leaving. Helpful? No! "Ask me what?" Penny said hearing her name mentioned. I thought for a second and then just decided to ask her: "Ha! It's a way of life squirm! A bit like how me and Jenny are the boss of you!" Penny laughed. "Yeah!" Jenny smirked walking next to her sister. With the twins Penny lead and was the brains of the two, whilst Jenny just agreed and followed. The were nice to each other- but not to me as you have just witnessed. "Twins lay the table! Sienna get your dad!" Mum shouted from the kitchen. "Where will he be?" I asked getting on my coat and wellies. "In the horse stables I would imagine," she shouted. I nodded and ran out of the back door. "Arghhh!" I giggled splashing in puddles on the way. I may have been 14 but I was a kid at heart! I found my dad sitting on a hay bail on his laptop. "Watcha doing daddy?" I asked taking off my coat and throwing it with his. "Looking for a ski holiday. We could do with a break! What do you think, Ci Ci? Up in Austria?" he smiled. Ci Ci is what my dad called me because I used to hate the name Sienna. He showed me the laptop page and I nodded enthusiastically. "Yep! That would be fun! Wait- who would look after the farm?" I asked beginning to panic. "I thought Toby and Miranda could house sit?" he suggested. Toby was dads best friend and Miranda was his wife. They liked animals and had looked after the farm every time we have been away in the past. "Oh dad! Dinners ready!" I shouted realising why I had come in the first place. We put on our coats, held hands and ran! We opened the back door and mum immediately began to shout at us from the dining room. Oh dear...
