Chapter 4 :::

We couldn't get close enough to the street to start an investigation. We needed a plan.

"I got it!" I shouted, making my head hurt once again.

"Tell me," Kendal eagerly asked. I did as he said and explained my whole idea to him.

20 minutes later we were ready. I stumbled over to where some important people were standing. "I feel faint," I whispered, before collapsing onto a paramedic. Now all I had to do was to make them believe that I was ill. This should cause a distraction for a while.

While the police had turned their backs Kendal managed to slide underneath the police tape.

My plan was working. Now I had to stay here for a while...

KENDAL'S POV

"Lola! Lola!" I shouted as loud as I dared. No answer.

It's hard to believe that only yesterday, Ebony Hill contained some of the most expensive clothes in the world... Now it was burnt walls and rubble and stones and bricks. Bits of clothes were strewn about too. All because of Lola. I stopped shouting after a bit and just looked through the rubble. I rang Anna.

"Pick up. Pick up. Pick up," I chanted into my mobile.

ANNA'S POV

"I feel better now," I said hurriedly, trying to drown out my rude ringtone.

"Off you pop then love," the nurse smiled. I walked around the corner before answering.

"Ken?" I said because I knew it annoyed him.

"Kendal. No sign. You wanna look?" He asked.

"Suppose," I sighed.

40 MINUTES LATER

Now we had switched. I was behind the tape.

"Lola! Lola?" I desperately shouted, hoping no one had heard me.

Then it hit me. Mind telepathy. I was so stupid! How could I have not realised!

~Where are you?~ I sent. I waited and waited for a reply. But none came.

~Lola? Come on Lola it's not funny!~ I said.

I felt a tingling in my head. Was this it?
