Dear past, Well what can I say about this past year? " Wet", is the main word that comes to mind! I remember at the beginning of the year being so excited when the block paving for the patio was finished, how I was so looking forward the the BBQ season? I think we had about 4 BBQ's all year that was so disappointing! Although it made a perfect background when Shan had her graduation, we took some beautiful photo's out there. Next door was so pleased when we took down those conifers too, both gardens are now so bright and when the sun does shine we get it most of the day!
Talking of the sun shining reminded me of Lydia's christening, what a beautiful day that was, in the middle of all that rain we had such good weather, what a perfect day I so enjoyed it!
We did get lots of sun though, although not at home, Fuertaventura in March and Turkey in May, we were a bit spoilt for holidays. Then there were the long weekends away with my sister and Jez in Wales and at Clacton. Our mad weekend break for Allan's birthday at Butlins and not to forget our nieces 30th in Weymouth, boy have we had some fun?
There have been a few sad times this year too, we have lost several people from our lives and they will all be sadly missed! Always in our thoughts may they rest in peace!
Not to dwell on the sad, the house is all but finished, we still have a few skirting boards to fit and some decorating to finish but all In all were about done, so lets hope this years summer has a little more sun so we can get out into the garden and make that just as beautiful?
That's about it for my year, I enjoyed the Jubilee, my grandson got to meet the Queen and he presented her with a posy of flowers. The Olympics were amazing, our teams were winners all round and I am so proud of our country for such an amazing year of celebrations!
This year may be a less busy, but I hope it will be just as exciting?
All the best Carol
