Unfinished Business

Darkness fell,
As did my heart.
For we shall never be apart.

Together, in life, we were bound,
Until we ended in the ground.

We did not imagine that fateful day,
When our lives were taken away.

It was so sudden,
We did not know why.
On earth it was our time to die.

And in the ground we were interred.
And no-one spoke another word.

For they didn't know who, why or how?
We were taken from their lives right now.

But as our bodies slowly decay,
On earth, alive, our souls will stay..........
