For centuries, cats have been viewed as nothing more than pets-smelly, snooty creatures who will not protect you, and only dwell with you for food and a roof over there heads. This is NOT true! Many cats have been known to help and even save their owners. They are not snooty, they just seem like this when compared to dogs. Instead, I view them as proud, with a regal air around them. They simply want to seem important. Many people who have previously owned a dog expect a cat to behave in the same way; only to seem a fool to the cat. They are not just pets, but companions, with feelings and consciences. They are NOT smelly, they clean themselves regularly and can even be trained to use a human toilet. Give them a treat or two, and they will reward you with a bounty of affection-making them just as compatible (if not more) as a dog. I do appreciate any dog lovers out there. This article has not been written to prove that dogs are better than cats! I am simply telling you the points about cats that make them such good pets. They have suffered long and hard to become as popular as dogs, especially in the Middle Ages when black kitties where thrown into bonfires and burnt alive due to the common connection between them and witches. Poor things! However, dogs have always been a favourite, even earning the title 'Man's Best Friend', when cats have worked for a such a title which they never received-and dogs got for free.
Although you might be suprised to hear that I am only ten years old, I am passionate about cats and want to help make them as popular as dogs. I hope my piece has revealed the truth about cats, and that they really cat be 'man's best friend' as well. Thanks for reading! x (=^.^=)
