For those who wish to create their own haiku, there is a generally accepted format taken from the proper Japanese format.

The Japanese format usually contains a reference to a season be it through weather, flowers or other.

The English haiku usually has three lines. The first should contain 5 syllables, second has 7 and the third had 5. No more, no less. Therein lies the beauty in writing a short poem in such a format.

Others may state that you can write about anything in any amount of letters etc, but that is then just a poem, not a haiku.

Most of all, have fun and give it a try!
