"Where to?," he said. I pulled a set of keys out of my jacket pocket. "I'll drive," I said. He shrugged his shoulders. "That's ok with me," he said. We hopped into my car and I drove to a place that I'd never took anyone. I'm not sure what it was called but it's where my dad proposed to my mom. I cranked the car and A Lesson Never Learned by Asking Alexandria started blaring through my speakers. I couldn't help but laugh at the irony. I clicked it off and backed out of my drive way. I drove and drove until finally we'd reached our destination. The road was a dead end and we were surrounded by woods so we had to walk for the rest of the way. I grabbed his hand and led him through the woods. I followed a trail that I knew so well. Finally we came out on a bluff. We both sat on the ground and took in the beauty of it all. "You want me to propose?," he asked laughing. "Stay out of my head!," I said smiling at him. For a moment it was as if the world wasn't ending and everything was normal. "I want to show you something," he said smiling. He took my hand and held it in his. I was in his head again seeing life through his eyes. I was staring at the setting sun and I could hear waves crashing against the shore. We were on a beach walking hand in hand. We were the only ones. I could feel the sand between my toes and smell the salt on the breeze. It seemed so real. He released my hand and everything vanished and we were back on the bluff. I threw my arms around him and squeezed him tightly. Not wanting this day to end. We sat there for ours. Finally the sun came out and we watch the stars sparkle like diamonds in the sky. We laid on our backs. I rolled over on my side and stared at him. His eyes met mine and the butterflies came back. Without thinking I pressed my lips to his. When I pulled away I rolled back over on my back and that's when I saw it.
