The minute I got home I pulled out my cell phone and called Octavius and told him everything that had happened. "I'm so sorry I should have followed you home," he's said. I could tell he was frowning from the sound of his voice. "It's ok. He didn't get me, and even if you were here he would have just taken us both I mean it's like killing to birds with one stone you know?," I asked. "Yeah I know but still I could've tried and saved you," he said. That's when it hit me. "Light," I said. "What?," Octavius asked. "He must not like light," I repeated. "Why?," he asked. "I don't know why, but whenever I turned my high beams on he vanished," I said. "Seems legit," Octavius said. "It's worth a shot," I said. "Yeah it is. Are you safe where you are?," he asked. "Yeah he hasn't got me yet," I said. "Ok, good. I'm going to let you go so if you need me then call me," he said. "Ok. I'll talk to you later," I said. " Sooner than you think and Jadelynn, do be careful please," he said hanging up. I flipped my phone shut and stuck it in my purse. I slowly got out of the truck and made my way into the house. "Mom!," I called. There was no answer. I searched every room but she wasn't home. My heart pounded in my chest and my brain went inti panic mode. I walked back into the kitchen. Something on the fridge caught my eye. It was a note from mom saying that she was stopping by to see a friend after work. My mind was soon at ease. I walked into my room and laid down on my bed. I shut my eyes and for the first time in days, I slept.
