Once we got a room we were so tired that we want straight to bed. I didn't dream at all so it was a rather peaceful sleep. I was awoken by the lovely ray of sunlight leaking through the window. I stretched and rolled over and was surprised to find that I was alone. Fear instantly shot through my body. I got up and checked the rest of the room frantically to make sure what my gut instinct was telling was true. I grabbed my bag and went up to the front desk. The lady that had checked us in was still there. I about didn't hear her call my name as I walked past the desk. "Ma'am, the young man you came in with asked me to give you this," she said. In her hands there was a slip of paper. She placed the paper in my outstretched hand and I quickly began to read what I fear most. Jadelynn, If you're reading this then know that I am sorry for what I've done. Please try to understand that I had to. I want to keep you safe and protect you. Don't come after me. If I live, I'll come back to you I swear and if I don't, then know that I love you so very much.- Love Octavius.
My hands trembled as I read the note. "Do you know where he went?," my voice in a whisper. "He took one of these," she said handing me a note. It was a map of Australia. "Do you mind if I keep this?," I asked. "No, not at all," she said smiling. "Thank you," I said rushing out the door. I followed the map to the Wongi Forest. I stood there at the entrance of the mass forest. It had an eerie darkness to it that made my skin crawl. I took a step inside and all at once the eyes were upon me. "Octavius!," I shouted. I followed this trail to an abandoned building. It was pitch black inside. I stumbled around in the dark until I noticed a small beam of light. I ran up to it. It was Octavius's flash light. "You're here," I said quietly to myself. I picked up the flashlight. "OCTAVIUS!," I screamed at the top of my lungs. "Jadelynn," I heard his voice call my name. "Keep talking and I'll follow the sound of my voice," I said. I followed his voice to what seemed to be a hall filled with several rooms. I check all if them but one and had yet to find him. I walked into the last room and he was there laying on the floor in a puddle of blood. I dropped my bag and ran over to him and fell by his side. I pulled him into my lap and started to cry. "Do you know how worried I was!?," I yelled at him. "I'm sorry...," he said, the words barely escaped his lips. I sobbed so hard my shoulders hurt. "Shhh...you have to...be quiet or....he'll find you," he said placing a finger to my lips. I calmed myself down a little. He coughed causing blood to spew out if his mouth. That's when I realized the pool of blood was his own. "I don't have long my love," he said caressing my cheek. "No," I choked up, "you have to live. You have to stay with me. I need you." "Jadelynn, I love you so much...," he said. His last breath left his body and along with it went his soul, heavenward bound. I softly kissed his lips. I got up and left the room leaving the flash light behind. "So, You got what you wanted! Octavius is dead now finish me off!," I yelled into the darkness. His white face seemed to glow in the darkness. He walked up to me. He was so close that if I were to move forward I would've hit him. I balled up my fist and swung at him. It made perfect contact with his face. He grabbed me and slung me against the wall so hard that I about went completely through it. A light seeped through. He took a step back into the darkness. That's when I realized light! I ran over to Octavius and sure enough he had a lighter. I reached in my bag looking for anything flammable at all and found my body spray. Right as he was coming towards me I lit the lighter and sprayed the body spray into the flame causing a huge flame to ignite and engulf his whole body in flames. I watched with a smile on my face as his body burned to bits. I knew that it was over finally.
