I tried to write a poem

But I wasn't quite sure how

I said that I'd give it a go

So I guess I'm starting now

I could try a limerick

But I'm not sure what they are

And I tried to write a stanza

But I didn't get that far

I did a little haiku

But my syllables got too long

They think that I'm a poet

But I'm pretty sure they're wrong

I've never been a writer

And I wish that they would see

That of all available outlets

My worst is poetry
