I always said that love was enough
It acts a rock when the going gets tough
But tables are turning, I'm starting to see
That all of this time the joke was on me.
Love is familiar, it's fear, an abyss
It's sticking with someone you don't want to miss.
Love is deception, a trick just a game
A pinch of the heart at sheer mention of names
You see dear old friend, love is a lie
Love is a rose destined to die.
We cling on so tightly until all that remains
Is fragments of heart, broken in games
