Chapter 4
After I had finished playing my instrument, I realised that it was 10:pm. 'What a day...' I muttered to myself. I walked downstairs for some water and a few sneaky chocolate digestives, (hey, I may be a vampire and don't need to eat as much, but I still enjoy life's brilliant food, AKA - Chocolate digestives) when I heard that Cheryl, Louise and Sandra were still talking, in the living room. I hovered a few feet of the ground, to make sure they didn't hear me, and flew to by the door. 'Well, where have you put the contract??' Louise asked (presumably Cheryl). 'Shhhhh,' Cheryl hushed her, 'I put it secretly under my mattress.' 'Really and does Ruby know??' Sandra asked her quietly. I froze at the sound of my name, what would I have anything to do with a contract?? (well, ok, maybe because I am everything but so...?) I used my vampire sense and listened using my extra sensitive ears. 'No, silly,' Louise told Sandra. I heard a sigh but didn't know who from. 'What time??' Louise asked (presumably Cheryl, again). 'I can't remember..' Cheryl fumbled...... 'All the details are in the contract, I'll get back to you tomorrow, early.' '12 Ok??' Sandra asked. I think the other two must have nodded. But I had other plans....
Louise and Sandra left at about 10:10 so it was a good job I went upstairs to meddle when I did. I levitated Cheryl's phone from her bag (I went outside and opened the window, from behind her.... Quietly), I then hovered upstairs, so I wouldn't make a noise, and found 'The Contract'. Believe me, I was shocked and appalled at what I saw. I read through it in under 30 seconds, (vampire, can't help it..) I grabbed Cheryl's phone and wrote a text for both of the teachers... I left the phone on the bed and ran (didn't bother to fly) upstairs.
OK, so my bed. Steps to picture my bed: 1) Picture a bunk bed. 2) Add an extra bed on top, to make it three bunks. 3) Picture wood all around the bed (like you hang blankets around it, to make it a den. But wood, not blankets), 4) Have windows all around the bed and curtains inside. 5) Inside have a bed like you would on a bunk bed, but instead of the ladder being outside, its inside. 6) Make a WiFi hotspot, and shelves built into it all around the bed, not the ladder. 7) Add another floor above the third bed and make it into a balcony, not a bed. Your picture should be complete.
Any who, the contract was something about all three of them having an operation that has never been done to humans before, and guess what, their having it done because they want to be like me. Able to fly, have magic powers.... e.t.c. I searched 'Slicembale Hospital' on my iPad and found out that it wasn't reliable and that 9/10 people who have an operation there get even more injured, or die. Yeah, brilliant place to pick Cheryl. But why would she want to be like me?? I could try to make anyone like me, but it wouldn't work, if I cant do it, they wont be able to. I started texting my BFF, Ally.
'Hi Rubes, wuu2??' She wrote. 'Nothing, Y wuu2' I replied. 'Watching funny vids :D' She text. I selected to go on video chat and we talked and watched the videos all night.
'Night' I whispered to her.* 'Yeah, night,' She whispered back (* I whispered because her mum said to be quiet as her little brother was trying to sleep. Ally asked why cant she talk normal because it's Friday, Not-A-School-Night, But her mum wasn't having it so we ended the chat). Cheryl came upstairs and must have been looking for 'The Contract', I needed to put it back as it was on my shelf next to me. I flicked my big lights off (the ones that lit up my whole rooms) then the bed ones (above my head), and as I suspected Cheryl came in to see if I was asleep. Far from it. I had made myself invisible and flew over her head to her room and quickly placed 'The Contract' under her mattress. I then flew back to my bedroom and into my bed (Dodging Cheryl, Of Course) and went to sleep. Not like I needed sleep, I only need 3 hours approx. Hey, at least that gives me some time to hatch a plan while Cheryl's still asleep.....
