“Are you sure she will be able to use her powers if she is kept away from using them??” asked a worried voice. “I’m sure,” replied a young voice. “But what about the other two?? Where are they going??” “I will sort that.” “But…” “They will meet when the time is right.” The worried man nodded in the murky darkness and watched the younger man place a pale baby in a cradle through an open window in 31 Windsor-bridge drive. “She will be ok, Mick,” the young man reassured him as they flew through the sky without a backward glance.
Peyton Meltonbury walked down her stairs, for some odd reason her Grandma, who was called Edie, wanted to talk to her today. Peyton had no idea what had happened to her parents and wouldn’t dare ask. She had curly, ginger hair, with a straight fringe and with red lips, rosy cheeks and dark brown eyes. She smiled politely at her Grandma and asked, “You wanted to talk to me??” “Yes, Dear,” Edie replied as she returned the smile and sat down on their luxurious sofa. Peyton sat down next to her and began to feel anxious, what was this talk going to be about?? “I have something to tell you, but don’t go bizarre.” Edie pleaded at her Grandchild. Peyton was getting very confused, he Grandma had never said anything like this before so she just bit her red lip and nodded shyly. “You see you’ve got special powers, you inherited them from your dad......”
Knock, Knock….Knock, Knock…. “Helllloooo!! Edie?? Are you there??” A voice called through the letterbox, which startled Peyton. “I’m coming….I’m coming…..” Edie assured the person at the door. Peyton stared at the front door and saw a man walk through their glass door. “Peyton Meltonbury?? I have a question for you,” the man told her. “Sure…?” Peyton replied politely at the man. “Will you help me retrieve the Cuprite Mineral?” The man asked Peyton. She nodded, although, she didn’t know what she let herself in for, but it must be something to do with her newfound powers.
Peyton was in the dark, gloomy forest waiting for a person called Skyla Nightly and Cody McClaren. Apparently, they had powers too, but not the same as her, that’s why they were put together, because they would make a great team. They would be trying to find a Mineral called the Cuprite Mineral. The Mineral is dark red, quite soft and abundant. But the one their looking for is completely different because it is dark blue and very hard and the only one of its kind. Skyla’s powers are water and ice, Cody’s powers are electric and fire and Peyton’s powers are psychic and flying. This means that Skyla can control water and ice and make it appear, and make a lake or an ice cube. Cody can do the same but with electric and fire. Peyton’s powers are a little bit different because she can read people mind and levitate them, she can also fly herself. “Hi, are you Peyton Meltonbury??” asked a girl about the same age as Peyton with blonde straight hair and kind, bright blue eyes. “Yep,” Peyton replied cheerfully and scanned the other two. Cody had light brown hair and green eye’s he seemed very quiet to Peyton. All of a sudden there was a massive BANG!!! Followed by, “Yes we did it George; now let’s go before them ‘Power People’ get here!!” Skyla looked at Peyton in alarm. The trees looked worried as if they knew something was going to happen. Peyton’s heart skipped a beat while Skyla’s blue eyes widened. Cody looked terrified and tears streamed down his pale face. A storm brewed above their head. Peyton and Skyla looked worried, but determined. Skyla broke the silence, “Lets go!!” “I… I….. Can’t…..” Cody began to tell them. “What are you on about??” Peyton asked him, desperate for the end of his sentence. Cody span around and ran back to the entrance of the forest and ran, to where the girls presumed he called home. “SERIOUSLY!!!!” Skyla called after him then turned her attention to Peyton, “Lets go!!” The girls ran through the forest and soon were face to face with Cassidy and George Lincoln, the twosome who were on a quest to steal the Cuprite Mineral and with their evil boss, destroy the earth.
Skyla threw water at Cassidy and George and yelled at Peyton, “FIGHT!!” For Peyton this was her first attempt at fighting, but obviously Skyla was expecting it. Peyton took one last deep breath and stared up into the thunder that was fighting with the lightning and the rain that was fighting with the clouds. The trees looked petrified and the mountain opposite them looked miserable. Peyton jumped into the sky and thought about flying and realised that it wasn’t so hard at all. She flew behind Cassidy and thought about levitating her, to Peyton’s disbelief, it worked, but with the shock she dropped Cassidy. She did that on George too and let Skyla freeze them, so they were able to get the Cuprite Mineral from their clutches. The Mineral smiled at them as if he knew the situation as Skyla picked it up and beckoned Peyton to her. Peyton landed beside her and listened. “Now we have the Mineral we must return it to your house where your Dad is waiting.” Skyla told her. “My Dad??” Peyton asked her dumbfounded as she cocked her head to the side. “Oh yeah, you don’t know, do you??” Skyla realised, “That man who came to your house to ask you about this is your Dad, Mick Meltonbury. He was taken away from you because you might have learnt about your powers too early and used them in the wrong way….. We should really hurry back.” “How do you know all this??” Peyton questioned her. “I just do…”
When they got back to Peyton’s capacious house, Skyla and Peyton were given certificates and a congratulating. Peyton also got to meet her dad for the first time. Thanks to Skyla and Peyton the world was safe. All was well.
