So, I'm back as card room supervisor tonight for the poker tournament.
I love being in the card room, as a bit of a card shark myself it always helps when you are working a shift that you will enjoy.
The downside? Well, I'm female in a male dominated space - even my poker dealers tonight are male. Not only do the men that play hate to be corrected by a woman supervisor they especially despise it when they have played poker games with me and have also been beaten. Lol!
To work in the poker side of the business you have to be thick skinned, these guys turn into grade A arseholes as soon as they sit at the felt (table).
Luckily, I'm not one to hold my tongue - I take no shit and they all know it too well - sometimes you just gotta put your foot down. Usually a few one liners go down a treat when they try to make me look stupid.
You should never try to outplay a poker player, especially a female one who also supervises ;)
