If you want a playful kitty, there's just a few things you have to do.
Pet her, stroke her, but most of all read her cues.
Is she feeling a little frisky, is she feeling slightly aloof?
Is her tail a twitchy twitchy?
Of irritation, that is proof.
Know your kitties moods.
They're not that difficult to decode.
Pay attention young man!
The obtuse owner may as well hit the road.
Stroke her when she's frisky, and she'll reward you with a purr.
She'll writhe with pleasure on your lap.
Of that you can be sure.
Check in when she's aloof,
and contemplating her day.
This thoughtful consideration will go a long, long way.
Perhaps she needs a bowl of milk, or to be left alone to ponder.
Perhaps she'll meow loudly at you leaving you to wonder,
what is it that makes this kitty tick?
Her ways can be elusive.
It's true, kitties can be quite mercurial,
and sometimes your ministrations feel intrusive.
Be careful when her tail is twitching, vibrating with irritation.
Keep your hands away,
if you don't want mutilation!
Know your kitties moods young man,
and everything will be all right.
Attend to them properly during the day,
and she'll reward you with evenings of delight.
