I backed away slowly, wiping the gasoline from my fingers on my pants. As I backed away I noticed the gasoline weaves in and out of the chairs spelling a sentence. I backed up more, straining my eyes to read it. Then I saw it. "ALL FOR YOU, APRIL" I didn't even have time to gasp before a candle fell off a seat and into the pile of gasoline. The fire spread to the curtains, making it's way slowly up, devouring the silk. I stood there in horror not knowing what to do when it hit me. Run. I ran to the door but it was locked. I pounded with my fists as hard as I could screaming "LET ME OUT, SOMEBODY HELP ME" but it was no use, the church was too far out from the suburbs, nobody would hear me. I turned around and sank to the ground. The golden red flames had devoured the silk curtains and had made there way to the ceiling. Soon they'd reach the glass window above where the preacher stands. Window. That's it! I could break a window! I grabbed a chair and flung it through the closest window with all my might and it shattered. I climbed out, I cut me left hand up a bit. I ran away into the tall grass behind the church, the building was completely up in flames, I got out just in time, luckily I wasn't even that dirty. I heard sirens in the distance, I couldn't be seen here, with the gas on my. I'd be blamed and go to jail! I ran through the tall grass and I walked on the side of the road home. By the time I got there it was almost 1 a.m. My mom wouldn't be thrilled, tomorrows Monday, which means school. I showered and put a large band aid on my had and went to bed.
