I heard sirens coming my way. Had the fire already started somewhere in the garage? What did that mean "wrong choice"? I'm certain nobody else is here. I ran outside and tripped, I fell flat on my face and the sirens got louder. I could fell blood running on the side of my face. I moaned but got back up feeling dizzy. What the heck did I trip on? I stood up and found my shattered, empty, music box on the ground. I grabbed it and ran out front, A firetruck sped down the road with the siren on, so did several ambulances. I stood there in horror and frustration. Suddenly I felt a hand grab me shoulder and I let out a choked yelp. "relax! It's me!" Ian said. "need a ride home?" he asked. "please" I said. We started walking. Suddenly I remember the box "wait!" I yelled! He froze. I ran back and opened why was left of it, the notes were replaced by a new envelope. Same handwriting. Still my name. I ran back to the truck. He started the truck and drove. We weren't going to my house, was he taking a different route? "where are we going?" I asked softly. He sighed. "there were two fires, six deaths. You're mom wanted you to stay at Alyssa's house so you'd be safe, the fires started at the exact same time so they're though to be intentional." he said seeming tired. My eyes widened, my jaw dropped. I misunderstood the message! Six people dead? What if they were the kids on second street? My head suddenly started burning, I clutched my forehead and let out a yelp. Ian looked over at me and saw the blood on my head and hand. "oh my gosh what happened??" he asked with concern. "oh I tripped" I replied, trying to sound casual. "it's bleeding pretty bad. Maybe you should lie down" he said. "I'm fine" I said. I looked down and saw the blood on my hand and felt dizzy. "oh" I said in shock. Ian turned the radio on, local news channel. A man's voice blared "two fires started at approximately 1 a.m. this morning, police believe fires are intentional and somehow related. Popular bar the "Smokey Saloon" had a fire started in the back, the cause is unknown. 4 deaths there. 3 men, 1 woman. Jason Parker, Frank Young, Jessica Young, Eathen Sullivan. A fire only moments later started on second street, a family experienced A tragic loss also, Will and Louisa Walker died in a fire in their own home. Luckily their 3 young children made it out mostly unharmed." oh my gosh! 6 people dead! If I had chosen that families house those kids would be safe in bed and they'd probably wake up to their parents making breakfast, they'd never see their parents again. Frank and Jessica sound familiar.. Oh my gosh they're Adam's parents!
