A very wise man told me once that people are, in a way, like a piece of tape. Consider this, if you are like tape, and you sleep with someone, the tape is pressed down firm onto that person. Then once the relationship has run its course, the tape is torn off leaving pieces behind and often a mess. The tape is always bonded strongest the first time it is applied. Much like people. Once that person has sex with their second partner, they are a little less attached. The tape isn't as sticky as it once was. When a person has multiple partners they soon become like a worn out piece of adhesive that isn't even sticky anymore. Hence, the individual often forgets how to love someone and is trying to stick to someone, or something.
I don't sleep around. When my friends ask me why I tell them "I want to be sticky."
