Chapter 1 (part 4)
Zane and I walked in the movie room and I was astonished at the room. It wasn't just a room. It was a small theater. It was so cool. The movie wasn't playing yet but everyone was already sitting. They were all paired off too. Jerica and Alec were sitting together near the back. Dimitri and Mika were sitting together in the middle. Xander was sitting alone near the back too.
"I'm going to sit by Xander." Zane said and started to walk away.
"Wait. I have a question." I said before he could walk away.
"Yeah?"
"Are Dimitri and Mika gay, too?" I asked and he bursted out laughing again.
"No, definitely not. Feel free to sit with them." He said and walked away. He was chuckling and shaking his head all the way to his seat. I thought it was a modest question. They did kind of look like a couple.
I walked to them and sat down beside Dimitri. He was on the end so I didn't really have a choice on who to sit by.
"I can sit here, right?" I asked them.
"We would love you to sit here." Dimitri said and looked me up and down.
"One of us more than the other." Mika whispered. I take it that he didn't want me to.
"Oh, do you want me to sit somewhere else?" I asked and started to get up.
"Oh no! I just meant it as, his obvious taste towards beautiful women." Mika said. I was flabbergasted at what he just said. The way he said it made him sound much older than he really is. He also just called me beautiful. I've only been called beautiful by one person, and that's my boyfriend. I didn't even reply to him but sat back in my chair. I didn't even glance at them for the rest of the movie. The only time I acknowledged them was when Dimitri put his hand on my thigh. I just shoved his hand off. Who did he think he was?
"You'll call me right?" Jerica asked as we were getting in my car. We really needed to go if I was going to make it to my date tonight.
"Of course." Alec said to her.
"We've really got to go." I said to Jerica to get her to hurry up.
"Just a few more minutes." She said and started talking to Alec.
"I don't have a few more minutes. Jerica, we've got to go." I grab her by her arm and dragged her to the car. She ripped out of my grip and went back to him.
"What's up with you?" I asked as she basically clung to him.
"I don't think she wants to go yet." Alec said and wrapped his arm around her waist.
"Why don't you just stay for a little bit too?" Dimitri asked. No thank you!
"I can't. I have a date tonight." I said as my phone started ringing. It was Tony. My heart did a little flutter at looking at his name on my phone.
"Hey." I said.
"Hey, um, we've got to talk." He said.
"About what?"
"I can't go out tonight. Something just popped up."
"Oh, okay. That's fine." I said even though it wasn't. Something was definitely wrong.
"Alright, well, bye." He said and hung up. I glanced at my phone and wondered what that was about. He didn't sound like his normal self.
"Jerica, I'm leaving with or without you." I said and started up my car. She raised on her tiptoes and kissed Alec on the cheek. Then she hopped in the car and stared longingly at them. Why was she acting so strange? Halfway to my house, she snapped out of her funk. She looked pretty startled.
"Your date! Oh no, you're going to be late! I'm so sorry!" She said.
"It's fine. He cancelled anyways." I felt pretty bummed about it. I was really looking forward to the date tonight. I even went shopping. He'll make it up to me though. I know he will...
