Yay. I'm actually getting consistent with this!!
Connie sighed and rubbed her face. "Fine. I was going to leave town." "And why was that?" her client asked, obviously enjoying it. "To get away from you. Just, leave me alone! What you have already made me do is punishment enough! Why add to it? Why put me through this? You already said you had your fill of me from last time!" From the back seat came a long silence. Connie held her head in her hands and sobbed. She couldn't help but think back to all her victims, how none of them deserved to die. Without her realising, Nate's image slipped into her head. Even the thought of not seeing him again made her blood run cold. This feeling, she thought through her sadness, Is this love? True, she had only met him once. But still, was it love at first sight? She heard a car door open from somewhere. She realised it came from the back of her car. She turned around just in time to see her tormentor turn to face her, with nothing to conceal his identity. Connie gasped. She knew him, very well. Her tormentor was the one man who had hated her since she was 20. It was her ex husband. "I'm sorry about what is going to happen, darling," her ex said, voice dripping with sarcasm, "But I do hope you can forgive me." Connie looked underneath her seat, just as a blinding white light erupted from under her. A scream tore the night in two, when Connie realised it came from her throat.
The blast was seen by a 26 year old man, tall, athletic build, eyes some would call sea green, perfect pink lips. Although, when he realised what had happened, his face was contorted with horror. It was recorded that as the blast subsided, he screamed a single word, the name "VERITY!!" and fell to the floor weeping. At the moment, his location is unknown. The woman he named as 'Verity' is currently in a coma, out of which she may never recover. The man that the witness named was Daniel Burton, heir to a massive clothing company. He was charged with the attempted murder of Connie Eliana Burton, his ex wife and unfortunate victim. She had left him after he had found her in bed with someone else. He gave her a code name to use in case of emergencies, which was the name 'Verity'. After drugging his ex wife with sedatives, he forced her to kill man after man in revenge for what she had done. The night of the blast was the night that the sedatives wore off and she realised what she had done. Her ex husband tried to kill her to stop her from going to the police. On the day of the trial, two miraculous things happened. One, Daniel Burton was given a life sentence for what he had done. Connie faced no charges as she had been acting outside of her control. Two, upon announcing the verdict as guilty, Connie opened her eyes.
I am going to leave the secret diary of an assassin here as she is no longer an assassin. I will continue the story under a different name and it will be about what happens after the trial is over when she opens her eyes, and what happens with her and Nate. Hope you enjoyed it!
