I woke up with a shout from Leo.
"I don't wanna!" I heard Leo scream from outside. The door in front of my bed was half open. I sat up, straightening my back, trying to peek through the gaps of the door from bed. Leo was running while Alex chased him holding a black suit. Alex had a bedhead and was chasing Leo around using an oversized t-shirt and basketball shorts.
"Shhh! You'll wake Lizzette!" Alex warned, putting his hand on Leo's mouth when he caught him. I giggled. That's very considerate of him.
"Too late," I smiled. Leo's face brightened, and he jumped too my bed, hugging my left arm.
"Tell him not to force me to use that thing! It's tight and uncomfortable!" Leo begged. I looked at Alex, raising an eyebrow. He looked at me shyly, looking down.
"W-well we need to go to a party later in the evening. It was an emergency and I have a lot of things to take care of. So I can't take you home yet... sorry," he apologized. Well there goes my plans for today. Not that I have any. Alex looked at me, troubled. Right, Leo won't wear his suit.
"Leo, can you please put on that suit, later in the party? You don't have to wear it now. Just in the party," I promised him. " But you have to try it on first okay? You'll definitely look good in it" I tried to convince him. Leo looked at me for a while.
"Fine, I'll use it. But I won't use it again until the party , okay?" he gave in, walking towards Alex. Leo grabbed the suit from Alex and put it on himself. Alex looked at him in disbelief.
"Why would you use it when she ask you and not when I did?" Alex complained.
"That's cuz you weren't nice when you asked me to use it!" Leo countered. He walked towards my bed, buttoning his suit up. Then he stood beside the bed.
"See? It looks fine on you," I complimented him. He smiled and charged at my arm again, and hung on to it like a koala. Alex walked in the room and sat on the chair in front of his desk, looking at me and Leo, obviously questioning Leo's attachment to me
"Why don't you come to the party with us?" Leo asked, breaking the awkward silence. He's looking up at me, trying to give me the puppy eyes.
"N-no, that would trouble a lot of people. I-I've never been to a party before," I rejected. I have no idea what rich people's parties are like. I've never even been to a normal party before. I would embarrass Alex and Leo.
"You haven't been to a party before? Dude, how antisocial are you?" Alex questioned, genuinely surprised. Somehow I find that kind of offensive.
"I don't have the time, or the attire for that kind of thing, Alex," I said patiently. Alex and Leo stared at me. Now I'm just looking at the sheets, not sure of what to do in front of them.
"How about your own birthday party? You should have birthday parties, right?" he asked, desperately. Birthday parties? I never had any of those since I was three. I didn't know that it was so important. Wait a minute... when is my birthday anyways? It's been so long, and no one ever asked, I think I forgot. I looked at Alex like an idiot.
"I-I don't know. I forgot when my birthday is. Is it that important?" I asked. Alex and Leo looked at me in disbelief. Seriously, is it that weird to not know your birthday?
"Dude, you have got to be kidding me. You seriously forgot your own birthday?" Alex asked, scratching his head. He looked at the ceiling like he was thinking about something.
"Okay, I've decided. I'm bringing you to the party with me," Alex concluded. Leo looked at me, concerned and loosened his hug.
"Yea, I really think you should go. It can be your first experience ever!" Leo said with excitement after thinking for a while. I looked at the two of them, dumbfounded as to what to do. Alex smiled mischievously.
"Okay, it's decided then. You're coming to the party with us," he said, looking at me from head to toe. "But first, we have to do something about your clothes."
