Daddy is it true that when you were little, just like me there were birds and bees and butterflies and fishes in the sea?

And did small boys with fishing nets catch tadpoles, frogs and newts and go for picnics by the pond without protective suits?

Yes my son all that was true now careful not to spill that glass of sterile water for your radiation pill.

Daddy tell me the story please tell it once again about the time when trees were green before the acid rain.

The sandy places where you ran and played ball by the sea even though it makes me sad I dream that it was me.

Hush my son, now go to sleep and don't dwell on the past in this age of progress such things can never last.

Please Daddy, tell me how it was before the earth was dying Daddy, do you ever dream? Daddy, why are you crying?
