Amidst the morning fog running footsteps could be heard. A young boy, no older then tween, was dashing between the buildings of his village. Everyone was still asleep meaning he could do what he wanted to do a long time ago.
Nothing was stirring. Another good sign. This meant he had plenty of time. Until he heard more footsteps. Quickly he dived down into the depths of a hay bale, making small holes for him to see out into the streets. A tall, muscular man was pacing up and down the street. Sword in hand. A guard. The boy gulped as he thought of what to do. Quickly he glanced around. No one else was around so there was no one he could use as a distraction. Also no objects around either. He'd just have to be cautious.
Carefully he crept out from the hay bale the back way. Then he crept round the wheel and peered through the fallen wooden panels. The guard was looking this way. "Turn around already.." the boy muttered under his breath, and soon enough he did. Then he sprinted. Sprinted to the otherwise of the patrolled path.
"Oi!" the guard yelled. Adrenaline rushed through the boys body as he turned and sprinted once more, dodging ladders and sliding under wheel barrows until he reached the wooden keep.
Behind bars was a girl, so innocent and pure. As she heard the boy approach, she looked up at him with her soft grey eyes. When she landed she seemed so bright, yet now imprisoned she looks dead. Clutching the knife from his pocket he cut the ropes with bonded the cage, it falling to pieces. Sunlight hit the young girls skin as colour returned to her body. Eyes now a striking blue and hair a solid gold. Looking into the sky she opened her dove like wings, spreading them wide. "Thank you." she whispered as she flapped her beautiful wings, soaring into the now clear sky as her delightful song filled the village. Now she was free. Now she was happy.
Guards quickly ran and arrested the boy, cuffing him and dragging him away. Despite now at the risk of being imprisoned himself he smiled, watching the beautiful angel fly with freedom as her melody spread through out the town.
