It's that time of year again when the flowers bloom, the sun shines and love is literally in the air. Pigeons. Its around about now they start puffing out their necks, cooing softly to the lady pigeons that bob for crumbs in the nearby crevices and cracks that run at jutting angles through the paving slabs in the town centre. It happens every spring and its a time of subtle encouragement for our feathered friends. You may whisper to yourself 'go on my son!' as the chunky speckled pigeon with the bulging pulsating gizzard makes a charge towards the pretty, yet shy female to the left. She scurries out of his path and he slows to a halt, defeated. But he doesnt let this get him down. After all with all that extra mass sitting under his chin it would be physically impossible to even look down in sorrow. So he tries and will keep trying til he gets his chick.

We can learn a lot from this pigeon. If at first you dont succeed, dont give anyone the satisfaction of seeing you sad, just puff out your feathery breast and march onwards to victory.
