After the long and arduous task of generally begging me to come over, I finally agree to drive to his house. I park in his exclusive parking lot in which I felt much more safe with; especially in the area they lived in.
I walk in on him playing video games and he turns and greets me without getting up. I sit on the couch and have that routine feeling of wonderment... What was I doing there and whether or not I should leave...?
As always I decided to stay. The night continued as always but I can't remember what happened...
I remember slightly waking in his muscular arms, wrapped tightly yet felt the cold shrill of emotional distance. I stay in place, too lazy to leave and slip back into slumber.
Julio gets up and gets dressed. He turns to me, thinking of waking me up. Instead, he kisses my nose and closes the door.
As soon as I awake, a cat was readily about to urinate on his belongings. I take her and tell her no. Sad to say she wasn't the only one with the urge to use the restroom, but, I dare not leave the sanctuary of the room.
I hear a female voice trotting angrily towards the door.
Shit. I overslept...
His mum bursts into the room angrily, her eyes fixated on me. I stare back in horror and anger that he allowed this.
She calls for his little brother. "Daniel! Who is this?!"
He answers.
Her eyes immediately soften as she looks me over. Some instant approval unfurls I'm my honor for my supposed 'beauty' and the lightness of my skin. I wondered if that was a Mexican thing.
She insisted I come out and feel at home. The cat and I are relieved and I let her be from my grip.
When I return to his room, fold out chairs directed towards his >60" flat screen as they played FIFA.
As soon as I walked into the room, I was a spectacle. Everyone wanted to meet me and make me feel at home with an instant approval.
I sit down and wait for him to get out of work, the abundance of his family making me feel awkward enough aside from the fact that we're not in a relationship and I planned to leave him very very soon.
The cat came in and sat on my lap. We waited in the room with the only one I actually felt comfortable and familiar with; his pot-headed yet much more mannered brother Miguel.
Julio walks in and happily greets everyone. Finally...
Later when everyone left and the room was cleared and cleaned, he put the cat out and closed the door. He comes towards me and hugs me, holding me close.
He gently pulls me gaze towards his and locks eyes with mine. His intense eyes staring down at my emotionless ones with a familiar softness... Familiar to a body not of his and uncomforting to mine.
The image of his locked gaze fades away as I began to awaken... The picture of his dark, stern, tensed eyes lingered and....
I wake up...
