I wrote this one for my class.
All I see is emptiness Empty streets in empty towns No souls are left to fill All these bodies all around
The Battle’s Maw has gorged itself It’s lust for blood fulfilled A river of red has flowed from the dead The men who here were killed
The women cry for husbands lost The children with fathers gone Sisters will cry for brothers slain But the war will still go on
This war seems never ceasing More than any man should take The dead continue coming And yet neither side will break
The bullets come, we fight again There’s a pain inside my heart I’ve fallen on this battlefield But still, I did my part
