Chapter 4
After stepping out into the cool, summer breeze I realise that I was only taken a couple of blocks away from where I was kidnapped. Now I have to find Ed before he kills himself. 'Ok, where would Ed be?' I say to myself. I decide to check the office, but with no luck. I then check the whole of South street. Twice. I hate him. Then I realise how I can find him. Think like an idiot, think like a spanner...think like Ed. 'For gods sake Ed!' I shout, as I've just walked for about 2 hours all around town, going to the arcade, the local McDonalds and other places Ed usually hangs out at. 'Where we're you?' Ed simply replies, 'I've looked for you for about half an hour now! I checked all of your favourite places: the arcade, McDonalds, the cinem...aargh!' Ed cries out as I've just slapped him as hard as I can right across the face. 'Those are your favourite places you spanner!' I'm shouting. You can tell I'm pissed off. Ed finds offence of spanner. 'Look, I was kidnapped and I now have more info on our case,' I say showing him the laptop, 'and it would really help if you would try to help me solve this instead of going off on wild goose chases because you want to go to McDonalds,' 'Hey, that was one time!' Ed replies 'One time this week,' I say. This shuts him up. We head back to the office, turn on the laptop and...What the hell? 'This isn't right? Why are there so many files?' I exclaim. 'Which one is the right one?' Ed asks. 'Dunno. Guess there's one thing for it,' I say, a little annoyed because now, we have to go through all of the 107 files, one by one. The first file contains a quick backstory of what happened to the files. To make a short story shorter, someone managed to sneak into a top security vault and steal a case the source was working on. Apparently the source works for the FBI. Yeah right, if he is then why can't they find the case? Anyways, the rest of the files have different thing on them: fingerprints, clues, that sort of thing. If they have this many clues then why haven't they found the guy who did this yet. 2 days later and I find out why. They haven't got the abilities we do. I'm great at working things out and seeing what happened in my mind and Ed, well he's got more of a practical approach. He's got an eye for out of the ordinary, clues and stuff. He's also good at slipping into places, 'borrowing' clues, etc. Anyway, that's why we were hired. 'The best of the best' they called us. At least we know now where we're heading. The vault. The vault was opened, the person got in. Unfortunately, the FBI aren't as good as noticing things as Ed or working them out as me, so we could plainly see by the fact that there were no scratches on the vault door, the person responsible came in through another method. The sewers were our next point of examination. 'As I thought' I explain to Ed, 'that ceiling area you spotted is the point of entry, they then snuck into the vault, picked up the file and opened the door to confuse us. The only only odd thing about all of this is the fact that only the files were touched, as if the culprit knew where the files were...' I trail off.
