Why won't you reply? Why do you leave me hanging Like a stupid, worthless idiot Staring at my phone for hours on end? Yes, I know we grew apart. No, I don't want to be yours, Whether that devastates you now or not. I'm just lonely, Want someone to tell me It'll be alright, Someone to ask me how my day was Now no-one does anymore. Someone to fill the pointless hours With small talk. Penguins. Lipstick. Movie stars. The world. Someone to search my heart, To knock to get in And someone to close it to, Even though you want to fix it And want me to let you in.
But, you don't. You read my messages and leave them on your screen, Abandoning the lonely little girl In her room, Staring at the cracks forming on her ceiling, Hoping. Just hoping That one day you might care enough to answer.
