I watch you on the screen

In your little bubble,

Safe and sound, no trouble,

In a world calm and serene,

There you don't know the hardships

Outside your little carriage,

Affairs of money, health and marriage,

Of chance and poker chips.

The die were not so lucky

When rolled from my hand,

Walked with Him through valleys and lands,

Him, me and your mummy,

But now I don't belong here,

Time to be called home.

Cancer cuts me to the bone,

I must leave, my dear.

I only pray that I can see you,

Feel your fingers round my thumb,

Only when that charge is done

Will I meet with glory true.

But until then, upon my knees

I beg with Him, plead and plead

As my soul of sorrow bleeds

Let me see her, please.
