30 January 2013
A crisp, clear night
When my breath rises
As a serenade to the stars,
Little wisps of life
That will not neatly end
But fade out, carried upward
By some celestial current
Which science cannot label, bottle nor explain.
A crisp, clear night
When thoughts become clear
And the fog of day gives way
To the soft glow of the moon,
When I stop and think and think to stop,
Stop the hastening rush of a life
That spins out of control in time to Mercury
And tame it to serve but the night sky,
In a blissfully, shadowy world
Of peace and quiet and clarity,
Where minds can finally be alike
And send life's sighs unto the gems of the sky
In some common thought of humanity
Too long lost and forgotten.
