23 June 2012
Molten earth swirls before me,
A warm rich embrace wraps round my soul.
Steam rising, heavy, heady, thick
Vanilla, cocoa and bean
Dancing around a cold northern kitchen,
Swaying in a distant breeze,
Calling me to warmer climbs,
A messenger from lands untold,
From far flung corners where forests reign,
Where the mother still runs happy and free,
Bare feet digging into rich steaming soil.
Dark as a starless, jungle night,
Froth and foam a blanket
Over broiling seas of luxury,
Silky, bitter, just for me.
