Diamonds ping off my windowsill,
Storm clouds throw in their pound
Raging, howling, pushing, shoving,
But I'm here, safe and sound
With an old friend,
My sentry to all the years
Who's ethereal arms float to me
And cover up my ears.
They wrap themselves around
My shivering body tightly,
Warming the cockles, warding off the attack
Spreading a glow through my tummy.
Flavour dancing on my tongue,
Aroma floating into my nose,
Diffusing through my entire being,
Heating up my toes.
The elements can rattle
And bash at my home
But with my dearest companion
At least I'm not alone.
