Golden girl
With golden ribbon in her hair,
Celebrated, golden,
The sunshine child
The Monday child,
Oh so fair of face
Such a smile as would put
Sun's rays to shame.
Flying and floating
Like the motes upon the beam,
Fizzling, flickering
Such electric vitality never seen,
Golden ribbon bouncing
Holding up her golden tail
The golden trail she left behind,
Slowly fading as all were drawn in
To follow.
Now she wallows,
Lost her lustre
In a most lacklustre world
Left in the wake
Of that little girl.
Destiny's whirl
Just absorbed her,
Moulded, morphed her
Into something ordinary to the eye.
Golden ribbon girl,
Flitting golden ribbon girl
Fly that golden ribbon once more.
