I know some folks don't like her
But I really like the Queen,
I guess I'm sentimental
I like all things regal, see,
It's the fairytale idea I suppose
Of pretty princesses and crowns
And a handsome prince to pick you up
And whisk you off when you're down.
All the stories of kings of old
From Bohemia, Hungary and France
Can be witnessed on that balcony
If you can get the chance
To watch them, the royal lot,
Waving to the crowds,
To have a queen as long as we've had she
Makes me rather proud.
The monarchy's been remodelled
And that bit of pomp and glamour
Makes me marvel in commoner's awe
And my heart go pitter-patter.
So really, though some may disagree
I'd like to have my congratulations shown;
To the only woman here who can eat a swan,
Here's to sixty years on the throne.
