Today I found a quarter
I don't know how it came
I can't spend quarters,
Just a quarter to my name.
No-one here will take it
They prefer their pounds
And it wouldn't fetch much in exchange,
No benefit to be found.
But just as I was moaning
About my real bad luck,
A realised this quarter
Amounts to rather much
Because I am now richer
Than most folks in this world
And I'm now a quarter better off
This lucky little girl.
