Sorrow does not cloud your eyes
It makes them hazy with sweet perfume,
Tears do not roll as you cry
Rather crystals from those orbs hewn,
Your chest does not heave with grief
It inhales fury and exhales love,
Your lips do not curse Hell's fiery keep
But send praises to the hosts above,
Your cheeks are not damp with melancholy
They are laden with fresh summer dew,
Your words do not besmirch that which is holy
Because you know in life you win and lose.
Never have I seen such sweet sadness birthed,
Never in Heaven and never in Earth.
