If I hear of Titanic one more time
I'll go insane.
(Funny how in Norn Iron
We idolise, grant fame
To a footballer who drank
'til death and a ship that sank.
But as they say 'She was alright when she left here.')
The Queen of the Ocean
Held court in the Atlantic
For 100 years,
A spectre of man's failings, Titanic.
The unsinkable ship, no doubt.
Well, look how that turned out.
Andrews, Ismay, the poor fellows,
Whether coward or hero haven't had a days rest
While Hollywood ravaged their memories
And displayed them in some grotesque
Mascarade, again and again.
Iceberg ahead, efforts in vain.
Can't we finally let the old dear be?
Sing 'Nearer my God to Thee'
At her funeral again?
Before I go insane.
