"Evans!" Potter called, chasing after me.
"G'way, Potter!" I said, turning my face away from him as he caught up with me, so he couldn't see the tears.
"Not until you listen to me!" He grabbed my shoulder, halting me, then turned me to face him.
"Oh, you're crying." He said softer. His brow furrowing under his messy locks.
"Obviously, now leave. Me. Be!" I tried to jerk away, but he only tightened his grip on me. Curses.
"You Git! I'm not in the mood Potter!" This time I put all of my might into tearing away from his solid hold, but then the next I knew my face was pressed against his robes and his arms were wrapped round me. I breathed in and took in his scent, he smelled of outside, green grass and fresh air, like the Quidditch field. I nuzzled closer, it was oddly comforting, and all of a sudden everything melted away and I felt safe and better. No longer the feeling of devastation.
"What did that Snor Nose Twat do?" He muttered softly, but there was still a protective edge in his voice, but this time I didn't mind. Was I actually-- no, I could never!
"Nothing, it's alright." I replied, pulling back and letting dread and hurt start to file back in.
"Lily," Not Evans? "Please tell me." He begged. I looked up to his hazel eyes, that were masked by his glasses, about to tell him off, but I saw nothing but true worry.
Was this really happening? This was James Potter, the boy I despise. With his constant attempts to charm me, constantly asking me out, I can't stand it and him. But the longer we stared into each other's eyes the more the butterflies fluttered around in the pit in my stomach and the more I realized what had happened.
"I have to go." I whispered, trying to keep my voice level. And I walked away from James Potter, I reassured myself that I can NOT fall for him.
