Barney, my nana's pet cat, died a few months ago from stomach cancer. I loved him so so much, and his was the first death i have had to deal with. Shortly after his death i sent this poem to Nana for her to red to his grave.

I'm sad that you were hurt, that you were in pain,I can confidently say, i will never be the same.I'm sad, and i will miss those furry little paws,But lucky rabbits to escape those awesome little jaws.I'm sad i'll never feel you winding 'round my legs.i never even saw you, catch a lowly mouse,Always aiming high, eating rabbits under the house.

But i'm glad there's no pain, I'm glad there's no more hurt.I can confidently say, i enjoyed our little games.I'm glad for the rabbits, but also for you too.You know i loved you lots, and i know you loved me too.But i'm glad for the times we had, chasing and/or spying.I'm glad for you, barney, the greatest cat that ever lived,The best there is.
