I can hear it bounding, I can hear the lust I can hear its twisted heart beating through the dust
I know what is coming now, I know that I must run I know I must reach the town before the day is done
There's a drumming in the ground, I feel it in the stones I can sense a rhythm in the marrow of my bone There's a drumming in the ground, I feel it in the stones And in my head the spirits scream to flee the land they roam
"Escape across the plain!" they say "Escape back to your kind!" "The beast is in the dust!" they say "The beast is in your mind!" And although I want to search this place for what I may not find All I can do is run and know I'll leave it all behind
Through the dust, Running through dust, Through the dust, It's chasing me through the dust
Over the horizon I hear the church bells chime My body its bread, my blood its red wine No exorcism could save me now Only my feet thumping on the hard ground
As the sun is setting my fears rise Bringing death and dimming my eyes The sky grows darker and I can hear The monster howling, loud and clear
