It's here! And very awesome if I do say so myself ;) x
*Justin's POV* One question ran through my mind as I glided through the warm, gentle waves that morning: What in the hell do I do? On one hand, Drew was my best friend, and on the other, I was in love with her. I was too in love to just be friends, but not in love enough to be dating. Various types of fish swam by me, oblivious to my problems. Living down here must be brilliant. No worries, just go about your business and no-one will question you. The reef was covered in every type of coral, vibrant sea plants sprung from every rock and cave. It was hard to believe all these fish had names, there were so many, how could you think of one totally unique and complimentary for their stunning features. The water was a clear, fluorescent blue, the calmest, most gentle waves washing over my body, slipping through the water. I dove down to the seabed and ran my hand along the floor, sand being disturbed and flicked up by my fingers. I realised I needed another breath, and kicked up off the sandy floor to reach the surface. I rose out of the blue, the cool morning air hitting my dripping body. I sucked in a well-needed breath, and ran my hands through my hair, making it spike up to it's usual position while stretching my muscular arms. I noticed Drew waiting barefoot on the shore, a pale blue towel in her hand. She gave me a gentle wave and a feeble smile as I walked out of the water. "Hey" she mumbled as I reached her, handing me the towel. "Hi" I tried to smile, but the attempt failed. I rubbed the towel down my arms and chest, ridding my body of most of the now-cold water, before resting the soft fabric on my shoulder. "You ok? You've been in there for a while" she muttered, taking my right hand and staring down into my fingers. "Yeah, I guess. Just trying to... Think" I sighed. My Mother's words had seriously put a downer on the two of us. Neither of us knew what to do. "Not much point in me asking what about" she tried to laugh softy. I didn't know what to say to that, so I just shrugged and momentarily raised my eyebrows. I fell down in the sand, elbows resting on my knees and hands joined in front of me. Drew sat next to me cross-legged, staring down into her hands. We were silent until she spoke "I've had an idea" she said, being forced to speak louder over the rising pace of the waves. "But it involves lying. To your Mom" she looked up at me, both of us having to squint in the harsh sunlight. I'd lied to my Mom before. I wasn't proud of it, but you know, it happens. I'd lie to her once more if it meant Drew could still be unofficially mine. "Keep talking" I stared out at the ocean, not wanting her to see how worried I was about this. "Well... We could just tell her we're friends, and you know, secretly be more" she mumbled. "Why not the other way around? Why don't we just pretend to date. At least then we can kiss and stuff in front of her" I suggested, but Drew immediately chipped in, her voice sounding hurt "Because she doesn't want you dating me". "What?". "She thinks I'm too young for you, remember?". "Oh. Yeah...". Damn it. If only she was two years older, we could fake date and everything would be fine. "So... best fake friends?" I looked at her and smiled, holding out my fist. "Best fake friends. BFF's" she laughed, pounding her fist with mine. Well this is going to be an adventure...
*Drew's POV* "So what are you two up to today?" Pattie asked as she entered the blue living room. Justin and I immediately separated from our positions close beside each other, just about quick enough for Pattie not to notice. "Ah nothing. Just relaxing" Justin shrugged, giving me a subtle wink as he folded his arms over his chest, eyes glued to the TV screen. "Oh come on. India's bouncing. Let's go out somewhere" Pattie beamed. She seemed to always be this happy. It made other people happy. "Like where?" Justin asked, not bothering to turn and face her. She stood behind the sofa, pacing in thought "Bowling? Shopping? To the park? Anywhere!". I did feel like getting out. The days were sort of just melting into one. I didn't even know how long we'd been here. "Well, I'll go wherever India wants to go" Justin chuckled as the four-year-old hopped up on his lap, giggling and laughing. "I wan go colour me mine" she threw her hands in the air, a massive smile on her little face. She was obsessed with Colour Me Mine. All the time. Poppa and I used to take her once a week, she loved it so much. "Nu-uh, not a good idea. Drew tends to paint explicit things over my t-shirts" Justin smirked at me, and I stretched over to poke his leg with my toe. "Let's go to mall. I wanna shop with Pattie" India squealed, pointing at her brand new best friend. I couldn't go shopping. I had barely any money. I'd never been rich, but never been really poor either. The stables got us money, but only enough to survive with the necessities. I didn't want Justin or Pattie paying for me either. I could look after myself, I didn't need their hard-earned money. I could get my own. Just not right now. "India, we can't go shopping babe" I sighed, staring at the TV. "Why not?" Justin was the one to quick-fire a reply, a frown on his face as he played with India's curly brown hair. "Because we can't". "That's not a reason". "Justin, we can't go shopping, ok?" I snapped, giving him devil eyes that said "That's enough". He looked back at me, trying to figure out what was going on behind the icy grey stare. "Fine. What do you want to do?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. "I don't know. What can we do? I've never been here before. You're the expert" I shrugged "So please Justin, grace us with your expert opinion of the wondrous land of Malibu" I said sarcastically, giving him a smirk. "Why don't we go to an arcade?" he challenged me, keeping up with my sarcastic tone. "Fine. You're on" I said simply. "Fine". "Good". "Good". Pattie stood, watching over our determined competition. "Ok... arcade it is" she smiled, pretending we weren't acting weird. I was going to kick his Bieber butt. I knew it.
The arcade was lit up like a Christmas tree. Vibrant flashing lights on every machine, the soundtrack to each and every game merging and making an odd yet melodious band of pixelated noises. The words "Winner!" and "Loser!" we're permanently blasted through the speakers of the racing games, unhappy teenagers slapping money into the winner's hand in result of the bet they'd made - and lost. People jeered and shouted as they won jackpots and lost alien-themed games. It was surprisingly cool, air-con blasted through every vent on every wall, making you unaware of the sweat running down your back from so much adrenaline when you played the combat games. Pattie and India had gone down the road for ice-cream, and had agreed to meet us there in an hour. Although, we probably wouldn't need it, it was like a freezer in here. "Where'd you wanna start Texas?" Justin began as we entered the arcade, "Bearing in mind, I'll win everything". He is just too cocky. I'm gonna have to put him in his place. "Oh Justin, I at least owe you the dignity of choosing the game you want to tragically lose" I retorted, stepping in front of him as I crossed my arms over my chest, a mischievous grin on my face. "Alright, whatever. Follow me rookie" he chuckled, leading me further into the arcade. He stopped at an empty air hockey table, standing expectantly at one side. He slid a coin in, and waited for me to take my place opposite him. "You sure about this. I wouldn't want to beat your ass in public" I placed my hand sarcastically over my heart, sauntering round to my side of the table. "For you baby, I'll make an exception" he chuckled, and the game began. Three minutes later, Justin had the game. It was 5 to 4. If Justin got one more point, he'd win. I wasn't going to let that happen. I pulled the puck out of my side of the machine, and placed it on the table, holding it steady with my index finger. "Having second thoughts Texas?" Justin teased me over the noise of the busy arcade. "No, I'm just giving you a taste of what it's like to be ahead" I replied nonchalantly, secretly unconvinced of my skills. I slammed the puck across the table, watching it glide swiftly over to Justin's open goal. He brought his hand in like lightning, zapping the puck back over to me before it score me a well-needed point. My reflexes chose the worst moment to fail, and watched as the disc slipped down into the machine with a clatter. "WINNER!" the machine screamed, making Justin throw his hands in the air as a song of victory played. "You lose Texas" he chuckled, walking over to my side of the table. Wow that's a cocky walk. "Yeah whatever" I muttered, unable to think of a good comeback. "Yeh whatever" he mocked me, leaning in and pecking my lips. I immediately missed his lips on mine, and gripped onto his shoulders to stretch up and kiss him properly for a few passionate moments. Justin's hands found their way to the small of my back, holding me to his chest as he deepened the kiss. "What was that for?" he breathed when we pulled back a bit. "For being a sucky winner". "You're a sucky loser" he laughed into my lips. When we finally separated, my eyes scanned the room for something I knew I could beat him at. "Fast and Furious" I blabbed. "What?". "The racing game. Come on" I grinned, before tugging him by the hand over to the corner of the room. I took a seat at one of the simulators, pushing Justin down into the one beside me. "I gotta warn you Tex. I am the known champion of this game" Justin confessed as he pushed the coin in the machine. I ignored him and selected my car. A black 1967 Cadillac, with an orange stripe down the front (In case y'all were wonderin, it's an American Muscle car. Google it ;D). Justin typically chose a brand new canary yellow soft-top Ferrari. I scoffed and shook my head at his choice. "What?" he furrowed
